I have purchased SF discs for quite a while and they had the serial code on the bottom. But for 332, It didn't and it was one of those discs that On Demand? Or bad quality? I was wondering for those that buy the SF332 did you get a strong CD?

I don't think anyone understands what you're asking here. What do you mean by Disc on Demand? Are you saying that your disc (#332) had defects in the play-back? What is a strong CD?


edit: I just looked on Sunfly's website, and found this: Sunfly Hits 332 - October 2013 HD *Download Only* karaoke album. I am assuming that means that this is not available on a disc, but only as a download to your PC.

There are 2 types of discs. On Demand and Press.

Let me quote this. " They now make discs "on demand" so I am not sure how I will know if they are "on demand" or pressed. They use to press thousands at a time until the piracy bug hit a few years ago. The informed they do this save on cost of holding inventory of hundreds or thousands of discs to just sit on a shelf."

On demand means no serial code in the bottom of the CDG
On pressed means there is one.

What's the difference you say?
It matter's because I manually insert cdg's from a RSQ and a Laser player. Where if I tend to use a disc that has no serial code it would tend to make the skips song frequently.

To your question 332 doesnt have a defect but it doesn't have a serial code in the back too. A strong CD to me means on pressed or a serial code in the back.

What does a physical Serial Code/Number pressed onto a disc have to do with how the disc plays in your machine? That should not affect whether or not the disc skips.

Now something that may make more sense to me is whether the disc was Pressed or Burned. Pressed seems to be what you described in this quote. What I am understanding from this, is maybe their "On Demand" discs means they will burn a disc "On Demand" (meaning whenever someone orders that particular disc) instead of pressing 1,000 or 10,000 discs to distribute in the Market. The quality of the playback of a burned disc might not be as good as that from a pressed disc. I know that I have had a problem with PHM's newer discs (from 2 years ago), because they stopped pressing the discs, and opted for a cheaper method of Burning them. Due to the speed at which those discs were burned, they cause a playback problem for my JVC machine (but I do have a work-around).

I too had that problem but with CB discs about 2 -3 years ago. My Pioneer V10 would not find the cd to be readable and I would have to turn it on and off and finally it would read. As it turned out they were all burned discs from CB. I loaded Karafun on my laptop and used the cd player feature to play those CB cd's after that. Since then I have purchased the cd's for my customers so I don't have to go through this process anymore.

I had some older players (JVC/RSQ) that wouldn't play burned discs very well either. Only factory pressed.
