I'm actually not too worried about it, I have two phone sites right now that sometimes get used, I don't see paying for another one, just thought i'd try it out. Plus my main one is not case sensitive. http://www.inkaraoke.com/k/m/LONMANhttp://www.inkaraoke.com/k/m/lonman

@Chris re case sensitive codes for SongbookDB
Gidday mate. The idea is for your users to type your case insensitive code (para1 in the eg you gave) in on the homepage at SongbookDB.com - so once they've used it the first time and added the site to their home screen, the most characters they'll EVER have to type is 6 (codes are 5-6 characters long). Please don't make them type in your full URL!!!! But in case they do, I'm working on making the urls case insensitive.
@Lonman re SongbookDB
Always happy to help out - if you have any problems, hit me up via the support contacts first, so I have a chance to sort it out for you. If somethings not working - I want to know about it, but need details specifically from your experience so I can find the root of any misbehaving code.

Here is an example of it in action - http://FeelGoodPros.com/songsIt redirects to http://songbookslive.com/feelgoodpros-Chris

Hey Shaun! Good to see you here as well. Thank you for all your help over the last few days getting this thing up and running. My singers absolutely love this thing, especially that they can check my songbook from their phones even when I'm not gigging! Very cool. The song request app works perfectly, and the ability for singers to store their faves is another bonus. This is the kind of gee wiz coolness that makes a KJ stand out from the crowd, and maintains your reputation for being innovative and on the cutting edge. I can not speak highly enough of how nice, friendly and timely all my correspondence has been with them. With that kind of customer service, and quality application, I can't see how this won't be a success!

I haven't used books for a while the printing and stuffing was a drain on my life and a book would be too many pages now. I've just started using compuhosts remote request with success. I've just bought a router from eBay so I can set it up anywhere

The main complaint I'm getting from those testing this out that currently use the karaoke loop app is they have to have internet connection (not always available) over a standalone app that can be used via their 3g/4g phone connection only.

Songbook can actually be accessed using 3 and 4 g service or if they prefer wifi. Anywhere there is phone service they have access. Pretty simple fro my singers espically the ones that are using the paygo phone services and don't want to burn minutes by simply connectiong to the venue wifi if available.

i like the concept of the songbooks db software, but the air language/envirement it uses sure doesn't seem to like my computer all that much.
All sorts of weird errors keep poping up that I can't seem to reproduce in order to give an accurate bug report

songbookdb wrote: Hi James - can you please post a couple of examples of the errors? Cheers. Well I still haven't been able to use the premium features, even tho the account status is currently listed as paid. Ocasionally I am unable to log in to the request account i set up, unless I clear the login information completely, then log in to the admin account, then log in to the request account. Yesterday, I had to do a system restore to get the book section to load the song book I had input with the read file option. For some reason when I pointed the directory to the songbook file, the system would hang, and I would have to log out of my computer and log back in to make it quit *wouldn't even let me load the task manager to force the process to exit/quit* . That part works flawlessly now, so I have no clue what it was that happened

Thanks for that James
I've fixed the problems, and will send a test installer for Pal through to you via the support email.
Also, I've refunded you the month's payment since you have not been able to access the premium features, which you will from now on.

I just finished printing my new books. Nearly 480 pages, printed and stuffed into page protectors. 4 by artist, 3 my title. It's been a challenge to find binders that can handle it. I started on Christmas and finished about a week ago. I have an online thing in the works, but rather than use a service, the bar I've been at the longest is trying to help me put something onto their website that works with my Access database. I don't see myself ever going bookless, as when I'm at someone else's karaoke show one of my favorite things to do to pass the time, especially if I'm alone, is to browse the book. If the online thing works out, I do intend to have less copies of my books in the future.
For years, on the cover of my book it says "to sing, write the ARTIST and TITLE of ANY SONG". My regulars know and my newbies soon learn that means any song, regardless of it being in the book. I'm almost always online, and am always willing to go online and purchase any song for anyone that I don't already have.
Most of the books I was using prior were printed in July of 2011. My last book reprint had been in April 2012, but all but 1 of those books were not recovered when my car was stolen last November.
I've never let my books get this old, but between being a single dad, having a girlfriend, hosting 6 karaoke shows a week, and adding an insane amount of new karaoke music, DJ music and music videos, I just didn't have the time.
For years I never did a "new music" section, and instead completely reprinted my books every 2-3 months. As the books grew, the time between reprints grew longer and longer, to the point of almost yearly. After years of singers asking me to, I finally started a small "new additions" book, which after almost a year became a nearly completely impossible to navigate mess of hand-typed update pages. I had some singers who really liked it, but often newbies would pick it up thinking it was my regular book, not read it's cover, and be completely confused by it. I just modified my access database to have an "add date" field, so when I bring back the "new additions" book, it'll have sections sorted by artist, title, and add date. I intend to completely redo it every couple weeks.
I can't even imagine trying to sort my music by genre, especially considering how many artists cross perceived genres. I do maintain three special sections in my book: Duets, Spanish, and Christmas. (green pages only in the book from Thanksgiving to New Years) From when I started, I avoided leopard lizard's problem of knowing what is actually a duet by previewing every track and adding that information to the title as applicable. Like "(duet)", "(female solo)", "(rap/sung duet)", etc., and if a song is by two artists but the individual artists parts are not indicated on the screen adding "(solo)" (like "Silkk The Shocker & Mystikal - It Ain't My Fault (solo) - Song Factory". To accomplish the duet section, I added a yes/no field to my database, marking it yes for every track where a duet or more singers is indicated on the screen. I started this early on; I can't even imagine trying to go through all my music now and add that had I not done it when I did. I maintain similar yes/no fields for the Spanish and Christmas sections.
Most people are very impressed by my books, and tell me they're the best they've ever seen anywhere.
