Good Afternoon Everyone,

I am William Beasley, Let me clarify some things. So far I have only been able to release a little information as of course this is and still we be for a while a work in progress. By no means do I think that on day 1 of launch of this association that we will cure all the industry problems. But in September I went to Mobile Beat magazine and had a discussion with them on my concerns with the industry itself and how if we did not do something, anything that this would be a disaster in the direction that it keeps moving.

Therefore with my assistance Mobile Beat and myself began trying to identify first the Industry Companies who make products to supply to Karaoke Host. Those included a lot of labels both US bound and Overseas and asked for a meeting. Just as Host have issues getting everyone to the table we were having the same problem as some had conflicts with each other. However when it all finally happened something happened that has not happened since the lawsuits started. They all started listening as we portrayed the current process just is not working.

Our first step with Mobile Beat Las Vegas 18 was to get a official Karaoke Summit launched that helped if you notice from the website "The Karaoke Host"

Some of my other concerns from actually being a host myself were (1) What labels were able to be legally utilized in the United States (2) How could we get an organization launched that represented the entire industry instead of lettering just a label, or a Karaoke Host or a Sound Manufacture run things. (3) There is no source anywhere on the internet that truly is a reliable and accurate source to provide data to current Karaoke Host or Karaoke Host coming into the industry. (4) Venue's as Rick Good said have no interest in legal to illegal host, honestly for some Venue's it just ends up with the Venue being turned off to Karaoke (5) How do we accurately know who is legal compared to illegal unless we have a 3rd party aggravator performing audits of libraries. (6) How can we change laws to work within the digital age however ensure that those laws are workable and enforceable without pushing for new legislation.

So with the Mobile Beat tour having Karaoke Reboot 4.0 (http://www.karaokereboot.com/) that was the first start. The second part was then to go and create a new organization "National Karaoke Jockey Association" (http://www.karaokeunited.com) which would be a Non-Profit organization that yes would have a membership fee to ensure that we are making enough money to successfully meet the overall objectives and goals of the industry and would then become an independent 3rd Party aggravator for the industry. There would be membership for Karaoke Host, Advisory Board Membership for those providing services and products to karaoke host, a General Counsel who is going to represent and ensure legal issues along with legal information is being provided to members and prospective members accurately. Lobbyist to work on trying to change and reformat laws to move the industry in the right direction and to keep up with new legislation to ensure they protect the industry interest.

In addition we have filed to be a Non-Profit organization in North Carolina, and once the Board of Directors is fully established we will then be moving to file for a 501(c) status under IRS guidelines.

I have gone to his website. There is nothing much in there (other than what looks like one big advertisement). His e-mail (which Chris posted here) actually said more than what's in his website.

Sorry Skid, but I blew him off when he not only once, but twice, did not respond properly (or in a timely manner) to my e-mails to him. That gives me the impression that he either doesn't care enough to respond, or is just plain lazy.

Ok Cue, then quit already about William, and the new association. You can now move on without him and his (in your opinion "spam") about a new organization trying to help bring the Karaoke community together. (I am not trying to pick a fight with you) but I think we all know that no matter what he is trying to do you are against from the start. You are upset that he did not contact you (reply to your email) then you are upset that he contacted you (via your published email), really????? You were upset that the initial contact did not include all the information about the group then in follow up emails from William it did. Really????? So far he is coming through but not on your timeline...... Whatever you do, do not sign up for any of the webinars. God forbid, you might pop a cork! Have an awesome day!!!!!! See you at the webinar!!!

rumbolt, why don't you stop your babbling. I agree 100% with Cue. And if you read William's proposal above, it's no different from what we have now, except you have to pay dues. Yes, laws need to be changed but this isn't going to do it. Just my opinion of course, but that's how I see it. BTW, I have a bridge to sell if anyone's interested.

I guess I would not be "babbling" if I was promoting one of your ideas. But since in your opinion I don't know what I am talking about is the way you will always see things. What do we have in the way of an association right now that is doing what William is proposing??? Do tell. Like I have said in the past, I will say again, if you don't like it, don't join. If your intent is to try to turn others against the proposed NKA, have you nothing better to do? Enjoy your own personal opinion.
Paying dues, my oh my. Just pennies if the effort to move our industry forward into the 21st century, then I am all for it as long as it is as proposed. I am off to host another great show, see you on the other side.

Having used the word twice to describe your organization, you must have meant it. Right?

KIAA charged dues as well, same boat different name.

unfortunately the same way as with KAPA, the National Karaoke Alliance, and KIAA.

i don;t understand why being gun shy on this is being attacked? who that paid dues to KIAA got anything at all in response? who got a response from KIAA ever? after all the advertising including by the manus involved in more than one medium all we have to show for our money is a mostly blank web page that links to GEM sales and CAP program.
nothing that is being offered sounds better than the last one so i think a bit of trepidation is absoluterly in order to see proof of something before paying ANOTHER organization just to put money in someones pockets.

Please note, I was not being sarcastic, I am serious. Your bashing (glass half empty attitude) something you really know little about and seem to have no interest in at this point is getting old. Period!!!!

Out of 18 posts (counting this one) which I made in this thread, 5 were directly negative towards WB, and ONLY 2 of them stated I no longer have an interest in this NKA. The last 2 posts (counting this one) were directly in response to you bashing me for my opinions of such. Your chasing after me in this thread to bash me further is what is getting old. PERIOD!!!!

Now, when responding to a post I am considered chasing? Really??? Then if I follow your logic every one on this forum that is responding to another's post but is in disagreement is chasing.

You are right on! Did any one of those organizations do anything for us? Did they eliminate or even curb piracy? Did they get our antiquated laws changed? Has any of these organizations lobbied in Washington to help change the laws and the industry?

I think not. And if anyone thinks that this alleged proposed organization is going to do it then I want some of what they're smoking.

One key note is exactly the thing that everyone in this post has posted.

Nobody has done nothing. And Unless we change that attitude then the same group will continue to make policies for Karaoke without Nobody having any feedback or input.

The main reason a majority of past failures occurred was due to one person or company making it's decisions. Not an actual body of people

People that work as teams accomplish more than people working as individuals. This has already been proven in the 4th quarter of 2013!

Billy, one thing to keep in mind. Those that respond on this forum thread about NKA only make up less than 1% of 1% of the total amount of people actually working in the Karaoke industry. Their opinions are just that and they in no way speak for or represent the real consensus if the number of working kjs exceeds 10,000 (according to the manufacturers the conservative estimates, the number of working kjs exceeds 20,000). I would go on to say that most responders to this thread have never been to a regional or national dj/kj event to network with other working kjs. My point is that this thread is not the holy grail of opinion. For entertainment purposes only.
