But again which songs from the last 5 years would be worth attempting to remake - I know I wouldn't buy anything that was already done fairly well from other manus - especially if they aren't sung. So which songs is what I was asking?

I stopped purchasing new music in 2010. I have a few songs after that, maybe 40 or 50. I have only had a couple newer songs (after 2010) sung more than once,a few sung only once, and most never sung at all. Red Solo Cup was sung about 3 times, Gangnam Style twice.

So which songs is what I was asking? It's a catch 22. Any titles somebody throws out, you will say "Oh that version is fine, I wouldn't spend money to buy another when I already have it.". But perhaps the SC version would be light years better, and you just might. But it doesnt exist yet, so you have no frame of reference. Etc.

I have songs that aren't great versions that I know better versions are out. They are doable because they simply do not get sung enough to warrant spending money to replace them just because it's a better version. If it was a horrid version - yes I'd replace it but if it's passable, sound ok, graphics readable - then there is no point even if the label if SC - don't care if it's light years better if the song isn't sung anymore - it's moot point. Also it goes back to what people are used to, versions that are out now - people are used to, doesn't matter if another is better or not. Example - I had 'I Hate Myself For Loving You', only available on BMB/Nikkodo at the time I bought it. SC came out with it a few years later, the girls that sang it normally didn't like the SC version even though it was vastly superior in music and graphics - they asked me to give them the BMB version that sounded twangy and wasn't lyrically complete. For newbies that came in and asked for that song, I'd give them the SC version and they were fine with it. So a much better version don't necessarily mean anything as far as what singers are used to. However that is also a song with staying power and still gets sung. I'd prefer they focus on songs never made but wanted by many and have THAT edge over the competition having songs they could never get because they weren't certified.

I'd go with 60's (a little bit) 70's 80's 90's and even early 2000's.

Well, between Lonnie's and my suggestions, we seem to have an agreed focal point of 70's and 80's. How about everyone else dropping some song title suggestions from those 2 decades, and see what we all come up with? I also agree that it should be new material, not material that was already released by other Manufacturers in the past (good, bad, or indifferent).

I have to go back further. Been looking for The Reverend Mr. Black by the Kingston Trio ever since I went to CDGs.
