I purchased a full license for this software back in 2007. I have since lost the registration and repeatedly asked Nick Gisburne, via email at post@karaokebuilder.com to send me my license. All of my emails have gone unanswered even though I used the exact same email account that I registered the software with. The emails are not bouncing back, just unanswered.

The other day, I emailed Nick Gisburne at post@karaokebuilder.com with a hotmail account, asking a simple pre sales question. He REPLIED in less than 24 hours of my email.

I figured perhaps my original account was getting caught by his spam filters so I used a gmail account to email him asking for my registration information to be sent to my original email address...and the email has still gone unanswered.

His website specifically states: "If you've lost your registration, for whatever reason, please let us know and we'll be only too happy to send it to you again."

That statement is NOT true. Emails will be ignored. I see plenty of pirated versions of his software readily available as well. It's pretty sad that a developer treats people this way.

While Karaoke Builder ended up the most popular, I found Karaoke Master (purchased in 2010) to be vastly superior, and the software included Earmaster, a very helpful singing tutorial. I believe it was made by IPE music, but not sure....

I've never had a problem with K Builder. Had to reset my license on a couple replaced computers over the years with no issues.

I didn't have a problem with the software either, I am simply warning others that if they lose their registration, he may not respond like he says he will.

That is what I was talking about as well. But I had no problem getting hold of them and getting response & license/registration reset - twice.

Unfortunately for me, I am stuck having to use a pirated version, instead of my registered version.

You are not stuck using a pirated version, you are making a choice to use a pirated version. And a bad one at that.

I certainly won't lose any sleep over it as long as my emails keep getting ignored.

Karaoke Builder just sent me my original registration and I was finally able to activate the software. This problem is resolved. I will update the topic.

I have the exact same problem with mister Gisburne not answering that kind of emails.

My father bought the software back in 2011, he recently upgraded his computer to Win7, well I actually did it since he's not that good with a computer.

I then used his account and PayPal transaction number to send a request at post@karoaokebuilder.com and got no replies.
I even emailed Mr Gisburne directly, using the address used for his PayPal account and still, silent as a shadow.

I had to keep both operating system on the computer Xp and Win7 for him to switch because Karaoke Builder will not work without the registration.

I wonder Alfke, did you write anything in particular to finally get the information needed ?

Yes I did. I was emailing from the account I registered with, and all emails were ignored. I opened a hotmail account, thinking the original account may be blocked by his filters, and asked for the registration. No response to any of my inquiries. I then opened another email account with hotmail and asked a sales question pretending I was interested in buying, to which he promptly responded. I then replied back stating that he is indeed getting my emails and ignoring, and that if he did not provide my registration like I asked, I would publicly bash his product in the karaoke community. He responded back to my original email address with the registration within a day.

Thanks for answering my question so fast.

This must me the most ridiculous lack of customer service I have ever seen in my life. And I have seen a lot believe me.

What's shocking me the most is that, it's a fairly small business for a limited market of users, one would think that you would to everything to keep your clients happy.

Anyway, I will try your method to get the registration and keep you guys posted on this.

But for anyone looking for a Karaoke software, I think it would be wise to consider an alternative, it's a shame because it's really easy to use.

Finally, I got the registration fix from Nick Gisburne himself early this afternoon.

I basically sent him another email this morning saying that on 'some' forums, it was suggested that he was ignoring emails from past customers requesting the same thing.

That answer from him came back a few hours later ;

I'll let you be the judge.

I found some inconsistencies with what he told you, but at least you received your registration.

Hopefully no one else will have this problem and Nick's solution will work.

I downloaded the free version just to play karaoke on my home computer. The lyrics came up but no volume. 3.0 Version I think. I sent an email out but have not got a reply. I had a older version on my old computer and it worked fine. Any advice. thanks
