after karaoke is done for the night, do you have a routine? is there a place you go afterwards to get something to eat or drink? is there something you do often to unwind after karaoke? or y'all just go immediately home and hit the bed

it probably depends on how far your gig is to your home and what time it is when you're done with karaoke
i'm kinda far, so post-karaoke, which is usually after midnight, i'll hit the local McDonald's but only for the $1 menu and get something light. ride home with my music cranked up while eating in the car. it's a long drive home
there's a spot open 24 hrs on the way home that makes hot sandwiches, so i may stop there and get something light

and hey, to quote drake, I'll admit it, i'll admit it:
i hit up a ratchet strip club post-karaoke. sure for T&A. but also for the ratchet strip-club DJs & music. i'll admit it, i'm getting older. and i'm getting outta touch with the new songs youngin's crave. so i'll hit up the ratchet strip-clubs to check out what's hot music-wise.
i know what you're thinking: it's "strip club music". not necessarily. where i'm at, the strip clubs on the wkends are open from like 9p-6a. that's like 9 hrs of music a DJ has to play. that's a lot of tunes. so not all of it is "strip club music". they'll play a lot of b-sides and they'll kill all the new albums out fully. like when beyonce or a major artist comes out with an album, you can be sure the ratchet strip club will play the full album a couple times during the night. that's how i'll know a new album is out (sometimes they play the album before it's out) and i watch the crowd and the dancers to see their reaction to songs.
sometimes a song comes out on the radio that i don't think is anything much. but they'll play it at the ratchet strip club and i'll notice there's a dance routine to it or there's certain reaction to it that everyone knows or i'll see everyone lip-synching the words. like everybody but me lip-synching the words. and i've never heard of the song. so i'll play it at my shows (clean version.) and see the reaction. also, the dancers in some places pick their own songs for a 3-song dance set. this is great insight to see what young folks personally pick out to hear or to show off to. some sexy r&b songs. i'll play it at my venue if a young lady is coming to the stage about to sing. nothing over-the-top, of course and clean.
i've learned a ton of songs by hitting the ratchet strip clubs over the years. songs i would've never known had i not gone. matter of fact, everytime i go, i leave with a couple of new songs to try out at my venues.
also, some ratchet DJs talk on the mic to announce girls to the stage or make announcements. I steal their lines, too. so, yeah, i'd have to say the strip club has been a big influence in my shows. it doesn't rule my shows, but it's an influence.
and it doesn't have to be a ratchet strip club. i'm sure i'd learn new songs at any strip club. the ratchet ones stay open late for me to get there.

You certainly have a more interesting routine than I do.
Where I am, the bar is usually the last place open so people will go there after their shifts--which means once the bar is closed there isn't anything left open. So my biggest thrill would be coffee at the all night gas station. I've heard some people mention going to a casino that serves food all night but by the time I've packed up that train has long left town.
So usually I just drive home and then do a quick internet check and then try to fall asleep with some innocuous and comforting TV show on. Then just a few hours later the sun comes up and I can't stay asleep so the next day is zombie day. But that makes it a good day to lounge in bed and look up song requests and do bookwork while things are still fresh in my mind. Not very exciting, is it.
But I know what you mean about keeping up with music. Even if I check Billboard and listen to the radio hits what I might like is not necessarily what the younguns like. They may have some underground songs they think are more cool than current pop. So I keep a request list and of course I can't get any of those songs as they are too obscure for karaoke.

When the load-out is completed, my helpers and I head to the nearest Tim Horton's coffee shop for coffee, chocolate milk, tea, whatever... (My treat, of course). A half-hour wind-down and we're back on the road for home.

Depends on the venue and what is around it. If I am training someone, I will offer to buy some coffee and grub. If I am solo, I will alternate between staying and having a few closed door drinks with staff, head out for coffee/grub with regulars/staff, or most often (about 75% of the time) just head home.
*IF* there were convenient, reputable gentleman's clubs near any of my venues I would drop in now and then, but Seattle doesn't seem to be known for either convenient or reputable or even gentlemanly clubs.

As my karaoke sessions usually involve the indulgence in dark, tainted liquids by the pint, my after show routine usually involves walking or getting a taxi to my sister's place to make sure she gets in ok and to pick up my stuff from there (Fridays also involve catching up on the week's TV over at her place and eating strange concoctions of whatever food is in the cupboards, almost like student cooking but with a better understanding of herbs and spices).
Once I have grabbed my stuff and downed some water or fruit juice (hydration is important to the next day's state of existence) I walk home to mine whilst listening to my MP3 player and general singing in a more obnoxious and less enjoyable fashion for people in my vicinity.
More water and some snacks when I get home and then it is off to snoozetown. Sometimes I even make it to my bed instead of just hitting the couch.
