They were terrible in the 70's, nothing has changed IMO. Didn't like it at all.

I have had YMCA done twice since Jan 1, 2010 (that is as far back as my history reports started keeping track, before that I have no recollection of their music ever being sung) and I believe that was as a joke that someone put it up for someone not knowing what they were singing if I recall! No other Village People song I have nor any song I don't have has EVER been requested for me to get either - I have a database of requested music going back to 1996 which I still go through to this date to pick up songs that may have been recently released that were never released before.
They may be a hit at your show, but certainly never have been at mine nor have I ever heard in any of their stuff done at other shows I have frequented over the 25 years of going to karaoke bars, that includes several states from Missouri to California & many in between. But from what I heard on this new stuff, just a lot of techno gibberish like almost all new pop music today (well the last 10 years). Never been a fan then & this new song completely doesn't do anything for me!
But IF it's ever released on karaoke & the million to 1 (being generous here mind you) chance that someone actually requests it - i'll buy it for them. Wouldn't waste my money otherwise.

The only Village People songs that I have in my Library are:
1. Y.M.C.A.
2. Macho Man
3. In the Navy

I've been to Karaoke shows in 20 different states over the years (in both Straight Bars and Gay Bars), and, with the exception of me attempting "In the Navy" 2 or 3 times over the years, the only song I've ever heard done at a Karaoke show was "Y.M.C.A.", and that wasn't done with any real frequency. In fact, I've heard "The Chicken Dance" and "The Electric Slide" done (both as Filler Music/DJ Breaks) more frequently over "Y.M.C.A.".
