Hi, all!
I'm going to be in Salt Lake City on March 21 and I am looking for a place to sing. It's a Saturday night. Any recommendations? Google has not been my friend...

Thanks,
Patrick McNeal

MrScott used to have some shows in the area, but I think he may have retired from karaoke. I have tried a couple of times and found the pickings to be slim.....bar life is not the most vital in that area. A lot of the municipalities don't allow bars per se, but only allow alcohol on "clubs".

You might try going to http://www.karaokelistings.com and typing in Utah for the state. The listings are alphabetical by city/town. This site is usually pretty current, but call first to be sure...

On the other hand, Mickyj57 is right. Salt Lake City would not be my first choice for finding a party spot on Saturday night....

Whereabouts in the Salt Lake area will you be staying?? There are a few decent places in Salt Lake valley,, but it all depends on how far you want to drive.

I used to host in the area and still have a few connections. One called "Good Spirits" is a small place, but it usually is busy enough to be fun. The host (if it is the same guy) is a fair host. Another is the Westerner, it's a large western bar (hence the name) It has a karaoke room that is independent of the rest of the place. Saturdays are usually good,, but the karaoke is sorely lacking in appeal though. I can find out a place if you would like.

Scott

I found a couple of places to try! One is The Highlander Club, and the other is the Bonneville Brewery. Highlander has karaoke every night, 365 days a year. Bonneville brews their own beer. Decisions, decisions!

The Highlander is pretty far out of the way from downtown Salt Lake. I have been there a couple of times, and it's not too bad,,good karaoke set up and stage. The experience depends on who is hosting on any particular night. I don't know much about the Brewery tho.
