I'm betting 8148 was one of them!

I'm with Lonnie and Chris, unless I were chasing a specific disc to complete a collection or a song that I just HAD to have, there isn't any disc that's worth more than $30 (and that includes 8125) and that disc had better be in VG if not pristine condition. And to give a little more perspective, Lonnie mentioned SC 8148, in my area, in the last 7 years only two of the 15 titles have been requested. The Crash Test Dummies may have been asked for a couple of times and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" may get about one request a year and I have both titles on other discs. To pay more than the original MSRP for a used disc would be stupid. SC was good, but NOT even close to being that good.

I am not disputing at all that there are a small number of Sound Choice discs that even I would pay a little bit more for. But that is a relatively small number. If you are trying to sell ALL of those discs at $50-$100, it just won't happen. In fact, when you average it out, you could probably sell them all in bulk and make about the same amount as selling them all individually since many Sound Choice discs are essentially worthless.

How about this......you keep a tally of how much you sell all of your discs for and in a year or how ever long it takes you to sell them all, let us know how much you made and how much work it was to do it.

There are still people selling Sound Choice in bulk for $2-3 a disc and those are the folks i am most interested in speaking to.

I said 8148 is a high $$ fetcher. That one is not a surprise to me. What surprises me is the $30+ shipping charge. That in itself is insane!

I paid $1000.00 for 10 disc's. Don't remember the disc numbers. But one of them Contemporary I paid over 300.00 and paid a lot for one called sand in your shoes. I got in a bidding war on ebay. I won.

Audioprola - you are a collector and somewhat of a rarity. I started collecting for a while, but realized I would be doing this for a while and I would eventually find everything I was looking for.

I think the typical karaoke host is more interested in acquiring what will be used so they can operate more profitably.

But.....if you are still paying 300 a disc, send me a list. I will take 25% off.... :)

Funny how you label me as a bottom feeder for jokingly saying I will sell my discs at a profit when you are the one that is doing EXACTLY that.....

I recommend you keep your copy of SC8264 if you have one. When you figure out why, let me know.....

That actually isn't a real site. You cannot order from there (well you can but you'll lose your money). And the phone number brings up a scam type service.

Agree with Lon. I ordered 2 discs from them last year. I have to file a charge card dispute, got my refund back from my bank but it took 2 months.

A friend kj ordered too from them last month, did not get a refund. They're now non-existent.

And not only that, the copyright on that Website is 2006.

@ Mike D.... If you're going to give out info like this, at least make sure it's legit and not a scam.

First - If you are familiar with my posting style at all, you should know by now that I can be a little sarcastic and snarky and I am not a fan of sugar-coating things, particularly when it comes to what puts food on my table. I am not going to be changing that so you can accept it and deal with it, or.....not.

Second, Third and more......

You may not be the web police, but you should at least do some due diligence to prevent your fellow karaoke folks some grief.

You can protect your balls from me in two ways - 1) Keep a cool head - I tried giving you some sensible advise, you got defensive and called me "cheep" (you misspelled it btw). Even after that I wished you luck on selling the discs at the premium you are asking and I still hope you can. But again, my belief is that you will have limited success. , 2) Use the ignore button.

I am not telling you what you can sell them for, am telling you that in my experience you will have limited success selling them for what you are asking for them.

This next bit is quotable -

Is it really smart to restrict your selling opportunities just because you don't like what I have to say? Especially when you are asking the premium you are asking? You really should cast as wide of a net as possible. Plus, you have already said you sold some of the discs for your asking price and I can only assume that 1 or more of those sales were to 1 or more people here. So again, don't restrict yourself on my account.

The God(s) of this forum are Phill's bosses - Totally unseen and they occasionally pass judgement on someone and action is taken.

Please feel free to PM to me who is sick of me and I will address their grievances directly.

Directly to the 25 - I know I rub some folks the wrong way. Some of the folks here rub me the wrong way as well. But I am still here and presumable they are as well. I am sure we can co-exist. Feel free to reach out to me directly with some constructive feedback if you feel like doing so.

Finally...... SC8264 contains a particular track that was meant to reference what you should have done a few posts ago and really should do now. Track 10.

@MIKE D

How are those high-priced disc sales coming along?

I noticed there are some premium priced Sound Choice discs on eBay that have been sitting at some VERY HIGH prices for weeks now. In the meantime, I have picked up some of the very same discs from eBay at more reasonable prices below original retail.

Check out these two recent purchases (which, btw, are more than I usually pay, but it isn't often that bulk Sound Choice discs get posted, so I picked them up)

First purchase:
$560 + $25 ship = $585.00 ÷ 95 cds = $6.15 per cd.
They’re power picks (8 kke tracks + 8 w/ vocals)
8 tracks x 95 cds = 760 songs ÷ $585 = approx .77 cents per song.

Second purchase:
$1,284 + $25 = $1,309 ÷ 116 cds = $11.28 per cd
Spotlight + other (15 tracks)
15 tracks x 116 cds = 1,740 songs ÷ $1,309.00 = approx .75 cents per song
oops. sorry - didn't notice there are star series also. But regardless - still a good buy!

(feel free to correct my math calculation, my calculator battery is running low) :) . Great find + great deal, chris. Congrats! :biggrinthumb:
