Bob just launched a Karma Discussion forum off the Karaosoft Facebook page. I will be helping moderate it.
While it isn't for Tech Support - that should still go through the existing channels - we know some of it will take place.
I have a call with Bob here shortly to discuss what all the "rules" will be for the forum.

I am happy to see that he has started a forum since most major karaoke software players already have one. This might speed up some improvements. Good luck Chris

Checked out the site & read the posts. I’ve learned a couple of pointers already. Karma forum has been a long time coming. I like it! Read your resume' too. Highly qualified moderator indeed!

All I can say is I'm glad Chis is running it.
Far more likely that you will not find deleted posts, or the moderator insulting their customer base just because they don't like what you have to say.

Chris - Can you suggest a feature request on the new Karaosoft forum about the possibility of adding a logging function to Karma to enable show logging across venues/KJ's/singers?
KJ hits a log show button (Multi site operator can lock option to always log any song played over 45 seconds in Karma) Any song that plays for more than 45 seconds is automatically logged with the following info -
Time/Date stamp Venue (Table added so Venues and venue info could be listed/tracked) KJ ID (Table added so KJ's info could be retained Karaoke or Fill music Disc_ID Track Title Author Singer ID (tracked across multiple Karma Installs using a unique singer ID)
Sync utility to keep show history updated on all computers.
I would suggest it myself but i don't want to be 86'd from the forum on the very first day 8>)

-James I'm betting unless you are a Karma user, posts/users will be deleted. It's not a general karaoke forum like they are making claim it will be.

Karma 2015.4.14 released today. Bugs from earlier version fixed, media database update is now a breeze. I also like the added feature from January, ‘singers history report’. Every other month I give my singers a printed copy of their song history, dates & number of times performed. Very stable for win7 & 8.1. I think this new release just got better (imho).

I doubt that will be the case at all, but you can take this to the bank (as already seen on the forum) it absolutely is a "tread gently" forum! Not a forum for the opinionated.

There is a difference between an opinion and bashing. There is a difference between an opinion and complaining. There is a difference between an opinion and support.

Just don't change any of the song locations from outside of Karma or you will still lose any singer history of songs sung that have been moved. Just something to be aware of in the future if you ever decide to do any housekeeping on your music db.

Karma Versions 20140901 and earlier don't mess with your singer history no matter what you do to the song files and why should they? Singer history and physical song file locations are not related and should not be tied together so that deleting one deletes the other. 2015 versions with the history hard linked to the media location is a major step backwards. I'd much rather click a song file and find out it's been orphaned then lose 2 years worth of singer history. It's an easy 5 second fix to search and find the song at it's new location in the rebuilt media database and you don't have to guess what version and pitch changes the singer used in the past. The user should have control of the software not the other way around. I'll stick with the 20140901 version until Bob gets enough complaints down the road of lost singer history to realize that maybe he should separate the singer history from the song locations.

I understand what you are saying in general, but I also know that my music never moves locations. Once it is there, it stays there. Chalk that up to my OCD folder organization and file naming.
Regardless, I doubt most people move there data around a whole lot. Think about it.....we are PC based so we DON'T have to fiddle with the music.
Quick fix or not, it is more important to you, than everyone else.

Quick fix or not, it is more important to you, than everyone else. Which I never understood why you need to move your music once it's in and fixed in the database. It's not just moving files. Lets say - You have 6 years of song history with singer's version, singer's key, etc.. XYZ publishing suddenly comes up on the no fly list. You remove all the affected xyz from your active media database for compliance. Karma2015versions immediately delete all xyz songs from Singer history simply because they were hard linked to the music files. 6 months later all proper bribes and extortion are completed and xyz is suddenly legal again. You happily restore the catalog to your media db but you have no history of those songs ever being sung. If you remove one song because the graphics are glitchy and then later come across a replacement you have the same scenario - no history of that song. The current Karma makes it impossible to create a truly accurate log of your shows. History is a one way street. Just because Joe does not smoke now does not erase the fact that he smoked in the past. It's just a poor database design practice to set relationships between tables and fields that are not required and that destroy data and/or reduce the usefulness of the data.

Yeah still not seeing it. The software isn't going to delete anything music wise. Has anyone actually deleted music from the no fly list. I know I havent.

Delete songs that you own because they appear on the no-fly list? Pardon my assumption, but that's idiotic.

Well i don't believe this would be an issue with Karma because it doesn't support the cloud to the best of my knowledge, however it is ENTIRELY possible that you could lose songs from your database the next time you have to connect your software to update your cloud subscription.
Any songs that have been removed and not purchased would also be automatically deleted from your harddrive.

-James Unless you make a back up of your hard drive? Then add any new music from the update to it??
