Anybody care to tell me how to batch zip files, or even if it's possible to do?

My computer knowledge is definitely lacking in most areas, and I seem to have a particular mental block when trying to figure out how to zip sets of files... the .mp3 and .cdg sets.

I've recorded a number of songs that I like to sing on a USB stick, but I'd like to have them in .zip form... not just to save space (I know, USB Space is ultra cheap), but just to see how it's done.

I've never had any issues with Unzipping sets... but compressing them is an entirely different story.

Oh, and I have WinZip32

Thanks.

Earl, first, let me just say that my computer skills & abilities are also pretty basic. Do you have MP3+G Toolz? It zips and unzips karaoke Audio+G files. This is what I use.

Every time I rip cd or cdg tracks I right click on that file & mp3+g toolz will show. You can convert zip to bin or audio+g to bin, or zip, bin to zip or audio+g, as well as rename files & create cue or text files. http://www.soft82.com/download/windows/mp3-g-toolz/

Get rid of your winzip32. Read the reviews: http://download.cnet.com/WinZip-32-bit/ ... 598-3.html

Again, this is just me talking (& learning) from experience. :)

If you have the WinZip program installed, it's as simple as selecting the multiple files, right click, and select SEND TO --> COMPRESSED (ZIPPED) FOLDER.

Tried installing mp3+g toolz (several times), but can't seem to get it to work with Win 7... Checked the tech/computer forum, but the latest was a couple of years old... Even so, I followed whatever instructions & suggestions there, but still nothing... Can't get the right-click to show the toolz functions.

Is there some later information I'm missing, or do I simply have one of those computers that won't accept mp3+g toolz ??

Repost here from the other thread just in case...
"Hey Earl, sorry about that last link I gave you. 'bunch of bloatware. :( Pls try this link. I just did a few minutes ago & did a "repair" of my mp3+g toolz. Click Download Link 1. Let me know'.

You'll see this:

This is insane... I still can't get the info to show when I right-click. I must be doing something wrong... but can't figure out what that might be.

Right click the folder the files are in, not on the individual files and the menu should show up.

I know it "should", but it doesn't... Will try uninstalling & re-installing one more time, and if it still doesn't work... I give up!

aww, come-on Earl. One more time. This time pardon me because I'll appear to be being ocd'd

The link is good. I believe it’s the latest vers. It works on win7 & 8.1 http://www.soft82.com/get/download/windows/mp3-g-toolz/

Uninstall & reinstall. Make sure you reboot.

After reboot, open your folder. You can zip en-masse (the whole folder) or any individual cd. But I think you knew that already as you mentioned you used it long time ago on win98 & winxp. Except this new vers is different from the old (I think).

Example from pic below, we’ll open DK folder (double click), folder files now showing, right click dk05, left click mp3+g, double click Audio+G to Zip - - & there goes the zipping!

Sorry again if I appear being ocd’d, just wanted to help you out & hopefully you can get it working.

Believe me Brian, and others, I truly appreciate your efforts in helping me to solve this problem... but I'm afraid nothing is working.

I've followed your instructions to a "T", yet when it comes to that final step where I should see MP3g toolz info after right-clicking on the folder... it's not there.

I also can't seem to take a screen shot of the screen that comes up when I right click... but here's what it says

Add to VLC Media Player's Playlist
Play with VLC Media Player
Add to Winamp's Bookmark List
Enque in Winamp
Play In Winamp
Scan with Microsoft Security Essentials
Share with............ >
Restore Previous Versions
Send To ...............>
Cut
Copy
Delete
Rename
Open Folder Location
New................>
Properties

No mention of MP3g toolz

This is getting really frustrating.

Sorry to hear that, Earl. I have a few more suggestions but I’ll wait for the tech gurus to chime in & offer their expertise.

Any time I have had the MP3G+Toolz menu item disappear, I simply re-install and it fixes it. To be fair though, I have not used the tool much at all in the past two years since I completed my scrub of my files. I just haven't had a reason to do mass zip/unzip.

The only other suggestion i can offer is to reboot in Safe Mode (power on the computer and repeatedly press F8). Once logged in, install the app again. Then restart in "normal" Windows mode and see if the menu shows up.
