This is more related to quantity rather than quality but am I imagining that Zoom and KV have been putting out less current hits and instead putting out lots of oldies and standards? There were a few days last week when KV put out nothing but songs in French. I don't know if it is a trend or if I am just seeing things that aren't there.
If you look at their suggested songs - especially if you click on the flags of other countries - you'll see alot of those French songs were in the top most requested songs for those countries. They don't just focus on US tracks.

Times change. Publishers have changed their position. The new licensing will be for downloads.

But you are talking anything new that might come out and not trying to relicense the back catalog for downloads (which is what would be the most desireable) - correct?

I will be moving in roughly a year. Does that invalidate all of my invoices that have the old address on them? Of course not.....

Having invoices from an old address and moving to a new address is not the same thing as stating a PHONY address... loopholes or not.

We're not taking anything off the table at this point. Personally I'd like to make remastered HD versions of the Bricks and Foundations and sell those, and we might do that, but we've got to figure out how to pay for it.

Well if nothing is specificially off the table, I personally would be more interested in obtaining as many of the tracks that are not available on the GEM in the MP3+G format. Or even better, re-open a custom disc sales

but maybe that's just me

I was simply providing a work around. I happen to have a valid mailing address in London. :)

Here is how I look at it, quality-wise.............
SBI, awesome country, some good hard rock and Metal, terrible rap and pop.
Sunfly - pretty much junk, except for the occasional jewel in the rough.
Zoom - AWESOME Pop, rap, R&B, and classic rock. Their version of Stairway to Heaven is the ABSOLUTE BEST version I have ever heard. Their current quality BLOWS SC away, hands down. I have their Rolling Stones sets, for example, and it blows the doors off the two Stones discs I have from SC. The sound is bright, clean, and not all compressed. I find A LOT of the SC stuff is very compressed sounding.

I like KV, too, BUT care must be taken with them. I have actually bought a couple of theirs that were SGB remakes. Oustside, from Staind is one of them that comes to mind. So, now, when I go to iCroons and see a KV song, I check the archive to see if SGB ever made it. If so, I avoid the song and look elsewhere.
I like KV for Blues, and Rock though. If you want THE MOST TRUE AND BEST recreations of War Pigs and Fairies Wear Boots, go to KV!! It may as well be Sabbath playing them.

If you do, would you let me trade in my Foundations for the HD versions?

What SGB disc is "Outside" by Staind on? I can't find it anywhere and I have the full SGB set.

I only have the Top Tunes and Top Hits Monthly versions.

Wow! the KV version is the same backing track as the Top Tunes version! I was under the impression that KV version were unique (they didn't share or borrow backing tracks).

KV has been my go to for a long while now. I will start paying better attention!

That is why I only buy the ones that have NOT been made by the cheap companies, first.

Chris and all who mentioned KV, here is some helpful information for you. If you own repeats of the songs by another company you will be shocked.

Many companies bought tracks for their product use from a man named Bob Blank at Blank Productions. The companies would buy from him and either add their own harmonies or use the ones he provided.

Bob Blank provided music for SBI, Chartbuster, JVC, All Hits, SGB, NT, PocketSongs, Sunfly, Sunfly Most Wanted, Top Tunes, Music Maestro, Pop Hits Monthly, RCA, Ameritz and now Karaoke Version. A majority of the music KV is using a lot of music from Blank Productions. You will notice the awful snare sound that is used is just about ever one of the songs.

When I was younger and wanted a different version I would buy that CD+G with the same song and same backing vocals and be peeved.

I tried to talk to him about his backing tracks and he was very rude and abrupt. I have a friend who has done guide vocals for him and backing vocals. He was a total a## to just about everyone who worked for him except for her as she is very professional. I know he outsources to other countries and is VERY secretive about his work. I got this information from very reliable sources.

I hope this helps you out on why so many backing tracks are the same but sometimes mixed a little different or harmonies slightly altered.
