I'm just baffled why you or anyone else would be interested in using this software. Do you really lack that much confidence in yourself to believe you can't be successful without the use of this software? Software which, in my opinion, can only be detrimental to KJ's, their singers, and the industry as a whole. Can't you see right through this for what it is?

Again, I ask you and anyone else that would care to answer this one simple question: Do you really need this software in order to be successful?

todays technology with digital songbooks is a major asset that i am really interested in, the rest really doesnt matter. i just hate constantly printing and updating new songbooks all the time. I'm just expressing my opinion.

I'll bet Chip would just love to sell you his kiosk program. :)

songbookdb has a tip the host feature right on the request page in the app as well. the difference, instead of 25% of everything that comes through it, you pay a flat rate. karaoq you get a $300 in tips a month...now take out 25% you are at $225, now take out the paypal fees (small as they are, 2.9% plus $0.30 per tip) and you end up with $212.40.
or songbookdb is $20 a month and takes 0% of your tips.
1) yes there is a Bump feature
But there is also a "Tip The DJ" that I feel will be used much more than the Bump feature due to the fact that we are Awesome at what we do as a karaoke host.
songbookdb does that andtakes 0% for doing so
2) free world-wide advertising of my events and showtimes.
songbookdb lists all MY shows for 0% extra
3) GPS location services with Map Guidance that sort showing the closest venue to your location
songbookdb lists all MY shows, with addresses, phone numbers and direct web links along with book viewing from the list just by telling it what city (I have different libraries for different rigs) and take 0% for doing so
4) Cross platform (IOS, ANDROID) Digital Songbook requesting station that works even when your closed. You set the times in the back office for when you want to "Close"
songbookdb does this as well, it ishows open when I am taking requests and if I go an extra hour, the book stays open. for 0% extra
5) Automatic integration when used with Karaoki software.
songbookdb was integrated first with karaoke, and now is also integrated with Hoster for 0% extra
6) Check in system letting DJ know There is a Party on the way.
check in? sending a song lets him know you are on the way and includes a spot to put a message to the dj when you send it to tell him a party is with you...for 0% extra
7) Free Advertising Videos provided at no additional cost that play just like a song or commercial.
songbookdb does not have this, not something I have ever wanted to do at karaoke, playing commercials between songs...
8) I see a few Facebook / Twitter style features such as "Follow the dj/Venue"
clicking on MY logo on the app (not a feature available in karaoq, only karaoq branding) goes to my website, and at the top of every page in the songbookdb app there are facebook and twitter buttons that go right to my facebook and twitter...for 0% extra
9) Invite friends, etc...
ok, you got me...
10) best of all, Just like the NAPSTER thing... Publicity
no extra publicity than you get from songbookdb...just pay less for it. don't understand the Napster connection.

and more, push notification to the next singer like karaoq, shout outs to all app users like karaoq for whatever you want, kiosk available for non smartphone users which is NOT available for karaoq (no smartphone, no song), subscription to karaokeclouds ever changing and magical disappearing library is not necessary to get all sbdb features.

i'm confused why in another thread you did not want SBDB because it costs $20/ month, but ARE willing to pay more than that for the same features with karaoq.

We've done our best to make it clearer how karaoQ and Karaoke Cloud Pro can help boost your bottom line.

The new video can be seen here: https://youtu.be/ztPlMCB2iMg

Maybe chip will be nice and let my friend update the source code, modernize and re-market the software with ipad/android apps. Hi Chip? :D

Actually, the way i see it with karaoQ360 is simply for publicity and exposure. For 129.00/month for 9000+ licensed songs + karaoki software. To me i see it as 12.00 per show.

So, if you're getting $150 per show, and don't make a zillion dollars on their "bumps and tips" then you are handing them 8% of your earnings.

For 8% I can advertise to a bunch of people who aren't in the club... I already have those those that are so it seems like a waste to advertse to them..

ok so i just watched the majority of the summit thru the utube link that was provided, and altho a lot of it seemed like just the regular marketing hype we've come to expect, i was really suprised that no one has mentioned the announcement of exclusive karaoke content by an artist, like Taylor Swift does with her albums. That more than anything else, could really make things change for this industry, cause a lot of the complaints i've seen at shows are 'why can't i sing the song i want to sing'

Can't you get pretty much ALL Taylor Swift songs on karaoke because she releases them herself?

I'm not sure what a better scenario could be. You can't get better quality than the original performers and if the publishers release the songs themselves there are NEVER issues with licensing.

Am I misunderstanding what you are referring to with "exclusive karaoke content by an artist"?

I think James was just using Taylor Swift as an example, mentioning that everything she has released on an album, she also has a karaoke version released as well. James was saying that it sounds like Karaoke Cloud Pro will be releasing exclusive karaoke tracks from other major artists directly (like Taylor Swift does).

I just noticed Karafun has 99 Taylor swift songs available on their Collection also licensed for Pro subscription. I hope karaoke cloud Pro catches up to that 21000 songs offered by karasoft.

I was thinking of this:

Quote:
the announcement of exclusive karaoke content by an artist, like Taylor Swift does with her albums.

To me that infers it would be the actual artist/label that put out the tracks. You seem to be saying that it would be tracks OF a particular artist, available exclusively from Karaoke Cloud, but not sold/distributed through the publisher directly like Taylor Swift does.

Cool if that's the case, but an order of magnitude below what Taylor does since she owns the rights to her own music and can't get the rug pulled out from under her. An "exclusive" artist that distributes through Karaoke Cloud could decide at some point in the future to pull the rights for a song or all their songs, leaving the buyer with nothing. It has happened before...

Yesterday, I watched their follow-up on YouTube where they admit they screwed up and promise to address the 2x-4x revenue statement.

Joe Vangieri sort of addressed it, but could have done a lot better job.

What it boils down to is you are only going to see this multiplied revenue under these conditions -

You buy the Karaoq360 package
Mark it up and sell it to a bar
Utilize the Bump and Tip features
Repeat the process for many bars

You can't make the multiples without drastically changing your business model and leaving the Single-Op world behind.

Even if I were to start using their model, I can monetize my existing and future venues with greater success and higher returns without changing my model the way they suggest. I am already doing it today.

There are much easier means of increasing your revenues without changing all your software and business model and make more money than what they are promoting.

Between having physical books and it is available online, we have no need for a kiosk.

So basically you are saying that you don't need them in order to increase your revenue, and that you can make more money without them. Why am I not surprised? Something I've been saying all along.

I have saved so much time and money with a kiosk that I have had no need for physical books for about 10 years.

Imagine how much money you've spent on just the physical books.... and slips... and pencils... and time stuffing and repairing them over the last 10 years. If you've spent $100 or more per year on books over 10 years, you could have a few kiosks that you could update your song list with a couple clicks.... And not spend another dime.

We don't pay a cent for slips (and haven't for at least a decade) and pencils/pens can be obtained very cheaply. As for books, we now print maybe every 3 years. With electronics there can be hiccups, damage from singers, etc, resulting in expensive repairs. I like the KISS system.

That would be the costs for paper and ink (or toner). I have an ink jet printer, and if I were to print two of my books at home, it would probably use up 1 full black ink cartridge (costing me about $17). I have 12 books (6 for Artists, 6 for Titles), and they are about 350 pages (175 with 2-sided printing). A ream of paper (500 pages) costs me $4 and change. I can print 2 full books from 1 ream, and most of a 3rd book with the leftover paper from that ream. So, to reprint all of my books, that would use about 4 reams of paper (@ $4 each (rounding off)), and 6 black ink jet cartridges (@ $17 each), for a total cost of $118.
