I think you should sale gift cards with a scratch off code on the back to use for downloads for a discounted rate. I bought about $3000.00 worth from Digitrax when they first got started. That would give you money at the beginning until the money starts flowing in.

Audioprola, gift cards for credits towards buying what? they have nothing to sell. if they had the library that DT did, i could see it and when you bought yours they had a nice sized library to choose from. Right now, SC can sell you useless credits for music that does not exist, but nothing more.
i actually agree with karaokeniagrafalls, produce something...however one will not get anyone excited. aside from the few uber cheerleaders who would buy a track of Kurt farting for 3 minutes just because it has the SC name on it, there needs to be substance for us to buy.
i, and i believe MOST (not all) hosts would buy from them if there was a reason to. we buy from Tricerasoft and Karaoke Verion because they offer what we want and make it easy to acquire. i have started buying from karaoke.net as well and they are now on my list for my hosts to buy from on the fly at shows like the other two sites. SC could be there too, but they keep giving us nothing but5 the same empty promises as they have over the last 6 years, except now they want money for the empty promises.

karaokeniagrafalls, the 500,000 number is horribly off. most of the people that we saw here buying into Advance purchased multiple copies and they got less than 200 orders. that means less than 100 people world wide are chomping at the bit for SC material.
one new song i think is something, but not to get a business started (which they are basically starting a new business). and you need a caveat to the price, i pay $3 each for Karaoke Version...they have songs NOBODY ELSE produced, and the list that was given to us shows only remaking songs others already have out (some for quite a while at that), and the quality is above the other companies on songs where they are NOT the only one producing. it needs to not just be a new SC song, but a new song for karaoke alltogether, or it would have to at least meet KV quality (and they put out quality above any other company including SC in their prime).
this is why a diverse library from a manu is important, one song....eh. give me 3,000 songs to chose from and i bet i can find some that they will beat the rest of the crowd, but one track, and getting the RIGHT track is a total crap shoot.

Wow! That reminds me . . . I wonder if Mad Magazine's "It's a Gas" is available in karaoke.

Back in 1963 they actually inserted this record in the monthly issue.

"Build it, and they will come" my friend. If you ever go to those local DJ/KJ shows there are Thousands of aspiring individuals just waiting for an opportunity to get their foot in the door.

Have you ever been to an Apple Store when the new iPhone comes out? Lineups more than a mile long waiting to spend $600.00 or more.

SoundChoice can create that same impact just from one new release song, because there are so many people awaiting their comeback since 2008.

Not many people will draw interest to a "Surprise package" but in knowing whats in the box before the deal is done... That's a totally different experience in itself.

Trust me, SoundChoice has a much bigger audience than what it seems to show. If they even were to setup a booth at a DJ/KJ show They would Rock! because they are the "Pinnacle" of karaoke. (Not sure if I said that right but let's just say... They are the "Top of the line", "The Karaoke King" when it comes to karaoke.

They only offered it to those that were certified. Another complete blunder. I wonder if this whole 'we're getting the band back together' is just a ruse to keep the copyright alive.

I wonder why they just don't offer their catalog for purchase online, or why they don't push to make it happen. 'We only want certified people to have our material' and 'how would you feel if it was YOUR intellectual property?' is such bs. I'd bet it's because whatever happened with EMI, they (or whoever owns the rights to the catalog) can't.

Thank goodness there's karaoke manufacturers out there that actually have a good business plan.

Comparing demand for Sound Choice karaoke to the IPhone is a little crazy. You might look into getting your meds adjusted. While I have respect for Jim Harrington personally, Sound Choice has no money and they didn't even have enough interest nationwide among their certified kjs to produce 1 disc. If they release to the general population, the public piracy will erode their profits yet again (why this doesn't happen to the other existing manufacturers I don't know, just repeating what they say)

I don't know what the answer is for SC to get back into production, but you severly underestimate the demand for their product.

Are you seriously comparing the Apple I-Phone to SC???????????? That's like comparing Apples to Oranges (pun intended).

Now, one of the reasons people are willing to spend $600+ on an I-Phone is because nobody else makes it. Apple has a patent on it. SC does NOT have a patent on the music they may or may not produce. SC may have copyright permissions, but that is NOT exclusive to them. People may be willing to pay $600+ to Apple for an I-Phone, because nobody else is producing them. Can you say the same thing for people spending $3 for each new song track that SC might produce (and don't hand me the "SC makes the best quality" line, as that is no longer the case now-days)?

But in that same respect i phones arent the only phones. There are many phones that do just as good if not better on the market. I love my LG Android over Iphone anyday.

if it took Apple 6 years to release an iPhone, do you think they would have the sales they do now?

Sound Choice is back at the start, they have been defunct for 6 years, and not released anything yet, so we don't even know if the quality is up to spec. Also releasing dated product after several now popular vendors have it out (some cases for months) will be another bad deal. Why pay $3 for something you 1) already have and 2) don't know if its quality product?

They need to make something, good or bad, and take a chance, like every other business out there. Once they do, they will see what the market says about there product.

Because they don't own it anymore. They sold it to Stingray. They can't sell it digitally or stream it or download it... They can only sell on "disc." That's why the Gem is only available on disc.

You would think that with all the other companies selling downloads instantly, they would have already come up with some way to compete...

They can't. They have nothing to sell so all they can sell is their 6-year old product they usually use as a penalty for lawsuits.

Besides, they're busy coming up with something they can use to push off as a penalty when they now sue for the CB trademark.

Yes, we've concluded final language on new blanket licensing with a major publisher, and we're very close to concluding new licenses with several other publishers. We're putting together our crowdfunding campaign, and we've raised significant dollars through pre-sales of credits.

I'm not ready to put a date on new releases, but we're much closer than we were even a month ago.

Crowd funding. How damn pathetic you people are!! Do you see ANY OTHER karaoke mfr using crowd funding to create karaoke music?? Now, while I think Karen is deluding herself in thinking how important SC is now-a-days, she DOES have a point. Release something RELEVANT!! Something that nobody has. And make that release open to the general public. Kurt will make money, hand over fist. I am thinking the same as another in this thread, that all you are doing with your empty promises is trying to keep the trademark alive so you can continue to sue people.

Begging for seed money by using the "tin cup marketing technique" of crowdfunding simply shows that even you don't have enough faith in your product that it can be profitable.

And sadder still is that anyone has actually fallen for this ploy while you're still suing venues and licensing piracy...

Let's take a breather, shall we? before things get out of hand. :) No disrespect to anyone, so please don’t shoot the messenger. I’ve just come across this broadway musical on internet.

A laugh-out loud musical comedy! Fending off foreclosure with rock & roll.

a chance to do what? promise more new music that will never be like the last 6 years of empty promises?
Rome wasn't built in a day, nope, but after 6 years they had progress.
a company that has spent the last 6 years making a living by filing suits hosts that bought their product is good?
how much time should we give them? is giving them 6 years of promising new material is right around the corner not enough?

give them time....from the woman who jumped Jim for not giving out information fast enough on the day it was said that it MIGHT be released.
it's OK for YOU to jump them wanting what was offered but not anyone else to?

Hey I backed off... I didn't let the "Irish" side of me out yet.

But patience is in order.

Give them time.

I was in the middle of buying / Testing HD Karaoke Boxes at the same time SC sent me an email intro to their new offerings. This is why I was rushing.
