So I play this game sometimes. I like video games in theory but I just can't bring myself to blow $40-60 on Playstation/Xbox type stuff, so I blow off steam with silly games on my phone from time to time. Works out well for me, and frees up income for important stuff like diapers and booze. Win-win.
Anyway, my Thursday night spot is retro-themed, but does cater to esoteric, nerdier types. (And, I'll just say it: hipsters. We get a lot of hipsters. Not a week goes by without seeing at least one ironic handlebar mustache.) As you can imagine, it's a busy spot, and many of my patrons are playing Pokemon Go.
Instead of lashing out against the phenomenon, the owner of the bar decided to harness it, and turn it into a happy hour: Pokemon Go players get $2 off beers, and "lures" (modules that attract rare Pokemon to a spot) are dropped on the bar to sweeten the pot. It's exponentially boosted the bar's Thursday night profits, and it was already a good night, but now they're doing business from 7-1 instead of just from 9-1 (when I'm on). I don't know the atmosphere of your bar, but if there are a ton of people milling around just outside of it, it seems to make more financial sense to attempt to bring them inside and get their money.

As it pertains to politics, I'll simply say this:
I, for years, have had an epidemic of people placing completed song slips somewhere I can't readily see them, only to have them all come up en masse and give me guff for not getting their song up in a timely fashion. They put them behind the system, behind the laptop, anyplace foolish, and then wonder why their song doesn't get called. It doesn't matter how many announcements I make -- it still happens. Constantly. Until...
Recently, fed up with piles of slips being found in odd places and having no clue as to when they were entered, I decided to take action. I made a sign that says that song slips must be submitted directly to the DJ, and that anyone who's slip is found somewhere in appropriate will be introduced to the crowd as a Donald Trump supporter.
Everyone's followed the rules ever since.

Everyone's followed the rules ever since. That's awesome and hilarious. I officially nominate you for this year's "Best KJ Rule"

The one night I was at karaoke, someone told the host there was a Dragonite--a high powered rare one--outside. He announced it, and roughly 75% of the bar left to chase it.
Myself included.

Myself included. Case in point I’ve been saying - this game is highly addictive. There’s the element of competitive game-play. Another example of how pokemon could put a damper on your show. No Shame! (pardon the pun/can't resist).

This game might not be just a passing fad. It’ll be here for a long run. I read future updates, Pokedex will expand & introduce new mystical creatures to include later generations.

I have quite a few Pokémon Go players at my shows and one of my venues is a Pokémon Gym. Pokémon has been around for 20 years. I don't really see it leaving but the GO crazy is starting to slow down.

Slowed down very quickly after it started around here. Our club is still a gym with a Pokestop across the street. I don't see anyone around anymore like it was at first & and definitely no one inside the club playing anymore like they did at first. Time for the next online phone app game craze - something with zombie apocalypse??

We have all seen so many trends come and go. I took an anti-pokemon stance from the get go, knowing it would be HYUGE up front and die off quickly.
Every friend I know that was playing every day has dropped it.

We need to look at this in much the same way that an employer will hire an applicant to fill a position in a company. By their resume. In this case, we have two prospects wanting the same job. And in this case, YOU are the employer. A resume will contain each person's job experience, achievements, qualifications, etc. Choose based on that. Who has the best resume. With that said, I do not endorse either candidate however, based on their resume, It's a no brainer... I would hire Hillary. She is the most qualified person for president. In fact, there's never been anyone running for president who has been more qualified than her. Personally speaking, I would feel much safer with Hillary running the country.

You have got to be kidding...... right!!!!!!! And Obama is the greatest president we have ever had..... right? Our nation has never been in a better place? I hear a song playing in my head "Everything is beautiful". Twenty trillion in debt and counting.... but who's counting as long as the "47 %" get all their entitlements. Amazing stats about: California New Mexico Mississippi Alabama Illinois Kentucky Ohio New York Maine South Carolina 1. The 10 above states have a huge amount of people on welfare!!! 2. The Senate Budget Committee reports that in fiscal year 2012, between food stamps, housing support, child care,Medicaid and other benefits, the average U.S. household below the poverty line received $168.00 a day in government support. What's the problem with that much support? Well, the median household income in America is just over $50,000, which averages out to $137.13 a day. To put it another way, being on welfare now pays the equivalent of $30.00 an hour for 40 hour week, while the average job pays $24.00 an hour. 3. An "Investor's Business Daily" article provided statistics from a survey by the United Nations International Health Organization: Percentage (%) of men and women who survived a cancer five years after diagnosis: U.S. 65% England 46% Canada 42% % of patients diagnosed with diabetes -received treatment within 6 months: U.S. 93% England 15% Canada 43% % of seniors needing hip replacement who received it within six months: U.S. 90% England 15% Canada 43% % referred to a medical specialist who see one within one month: U.S. 77% England 40% Canada 43% Number of MRI scanners (a prime diagnostic tool) per million people: U.S. 71 England 14 Canada 18 % of seniors (65+), with low income, who are in "excellent health": U.S. 12% England 2% Canada 6% And now…for the last statistic:National Health Insurance? U.S. NOEngland YESCanada YES 4. Check the last set of statistics!! The percentage of each past president's cabinet who had worked in the private business sector prior to their appointment to the cabinet. You know what the private business sector is: a real-life business...not a government job. Here are the percentages: 38% T. Roosevelt 40% Taft 52% Wilson 49% Harding 48% Coolidge 42% Hoover 50% F. D. Roosevelt 50% Truman 57% Eisenhower 30% Kennedy 47% Johnson 53% Nixon 42% Ford 32% Carter 56% Reagan 51% GH Bush 39% Clinton 55% GW Bush 8% Obama These stats are subject to being debunked, but I bet they are more true than not.
