This is what I am going to be getting. The only item I don't have pictured is the shelf for the mixer and the Behringer digital mics.

A couple of pics that didn't make the first post. I assume that is because you can only attach so many pictures at a time. Yes Allen, I decided to go with one of your suggestions for the mixer. Partly because it's a smaller one than the one I was originally planning on getting to fit on the shelf that I need to pick up.

Danny, your new system looks awesome! Good luck!
As far as the mixer goes, from what I understand, the rack mount kit for the X1222USB will work with this one. They are included with the X1222USB mixer. Don't know if you can get them from Behringer.

SKB makes a shelf for slant racks for mixers that don't have mounting hardware and the qx1222usb is one of the mixers listed that it works with. I plan on getting one of those.

I have the older X122USB mixer myself. Never had an issue with it. It's got Inserts, Returns, Compression, etc. In other words, most of the things that those other high priced mixers DON'T give you. And I have never had an issue with my Behringer mixers. You know what I like about you... You're not willing to settle. If you buy something that doesn't work out for you, you're not willing to "live" with it. And you'll replace it with something that's going to make you happy. I admire that. I'm the same way.

The biggest difference between the x1222usb and the qx1222usb is the ability to use the Behringer digital mics and that is part of the reason I am choosing this mixer. The other reason is that the price allows me to be able to afford most everything. Right now I am short the money for the rack shelf for the mixer so until I can get the money for it, I intend to use my 10U SKB rack and put the mixer to the side of the rack when running the show and putting the mixer into the bottom of the rack during transport and storage.

Yes it is the one I was talking about. If Zzounds had it, I would have added it to my order. Granted, I could add the other shelf if I wanted to but I had one before and I didn't like how easy it was to get the cords caught between the shelf and it's frame that holds the shelf in the rack.

Then, don't settle. Hold off until you can get the one you really want.

Why do you need a specific type of mixer for the mics out of curiosity, what is the model of the mic system?

They are Behringer ultralink ulm202usb. They only work on Behringer mixers that have the USB mic input on them. The receiver is basically a USB dongle. I had a mixer that had that particular input and I used the mics twice and loved the quality of the vocals coming of the speakers. I gave up on using them because I was having a hard time finding a passive mixer with the input until now.

Here are the Behringer mics that I have. I just got the Sennheisers. I plan on retiring the Rockville mics but the only reason I am doing it is that I want to be ahead of the end of being able to use them as possible. Like you champion the quality of the GTDs I feel that the Rockville mics that I have are every bit as good as the Shure SM58 mics at a much lower cost but the only Top of the price range mics that I feel is any good is the Sennheisers but that's my opinion.

I actually got rid of my GTD's quite a while ago. Back to Shure SM58's.

My game plan until I get the new system is to mount the power conditioner, Sennheiser mics and Rockville mics in my 10U rack. Put my Bose mixer, laptop and what loose cables that don't fit in a tool box that I am using to store my mics and most of my loose cables, into the bottom of the rack. Once I get the new system, I will be removing the Rockville mic receiver and putting a standard rack shelf under my Sennheiser mic receiver, the amplifier above the power conditioner and the sliding shelf holding my new mixer on the bottom of the rack, at which point I will be getting a laptop bag for my laptop and putting some of the extra cables in the bag. To help me move the rack, once I have the system in place, I will be getting a dolly with a handle that folds for transport so that the only lifting of the rack will be in and out of the car and on and off of the table. Until I get the new equipment, I will be using my Bose mixer for being the go between from the laptop to the bar's mixer where I will be connecting the mics to. I will be doing all of the audio mixing off of the bar's mixer and not worrying about any of the Bose's knobs at all. Of course, I will be trying out the bar's mixer's USB input to see if my laptop will recognize it as a sound card since the bar's mixer happens to be a Yamaha MG10XU mixer.

Pretty much what it looks like now. Will take a picture of it when I get the new system fully set up.
The power conditioner is right now the top most component. Right underneath it is the Sennheiser receiver and under that is the Rockville receiver. I pretty much put those pieces in the spots that they are going to stay, with the exception of the Rockville receiver which I will remove and put a rack shelf under the Sennheiser receiver to support it in the rack. Until I get the new equipment, I will be running the cables from the receivers to the bar's mixer. If I can get Ubuntu Studio to recognize the Yamaha MG10XU mixer as a sound card then I won't have to use the Bose mixer and the cables that I just picked up at the post office will just be extra cables that will be lying around doing nothing.

Danny, Is that the best you can do with the wiring?

mrmarog wrote: Danny, Is that the best you can do with the wiring? That's just temporary. All of the wiring actually will be in use out the back and won't be visible during the show. Right now that is where it's being stored for transport and when it's not in use. When I get the new equipment, I won't be storing any of the cables in the rack and the only cables in there will be connected to the mixer and the respective equipment. I plan on tying up the cables in there to keep them from getting tangled up in the sliding shelf.
