I'm not a professional singer, songwriter, or even in the music business (well I host karaoke but that's very different).

I only have one piece of advice - get and read from cover to cover - "What They'll Never Tell You About The Music Business: The Myths, the Secrets, the Lies (& a Few Truths)" by Peter M. Thall.

It's a book by a lawyer that works in the music industry and has represented ABBA, The Cars, Pat Benatar, Miles Davis, Barry Manilow, Simon & Garfunkel, Anna Moffo, and others.

It outlines all the ways you can get hosed by the label and what to watch for.  What you might be able to get and what you can forget trying for.

All that aside, the demo should sound as professional as possible and it has to hit them right away.  Think 'The Matrix'.  They started shooting and the studio wanted to know what they were doing.  They sent them the opening sequence with Trinity and they weren't bothered for the rest of the shoot.

The only other thing I have to say is  GOOD LUCK!!!! We're pulling for you!

thanks...but like i have said lol.......    I sent demos out and got repies, hehehehe. i just don't like any of the offers, and i know that i can get better then the back 40 where they are gonna jip me of my music.....    So yeah

I am just finishing up my cd right now, its not all pro packaged, but i am proud of it because its all my own material. And if there are a lot of spelling mistakes in this  i am sorry.....all i am getting right now are little lines, and yeah, can't see a thing.....hmmmm.....must be the dial up again.

i am just working on getting signed....i will make music no matter what, but i would love to have a backing force....
