Okay let's switch gears for a second... Forget the Powered Mixer ( I already have a little Behringer PMH 200 for emergencies ) This unit I Know has no Oomph but got me buy in a JAM in  the past.

Lets talk regular Powered Amps - I have and love my Peavey PV1200 - Been working steady for the last 5 years , but I know I can use a little more power and sometime in the future I want to add a SUB to my system.

Problem - Right now I can't afford $500 for a Peavey PV2600 (540wattsRMS x 2 @8ohms) @ 10db ( Keith thats for you)

I can afford a Behringer EP2500 ($299) which has the same power rating ( 500watts x 2 @8ohms)  listed at the same rating .

I've read MANY ..TOO MANY reviews on the Behringer the majority are favorable
Great Amp for the Price ( same story for all their products)

Does anyone use or have experiance with the Behringer Power Amp ?

Would this SIZE amp be more favorable for my speakers ( excl the PV12) ??

I've been using the Behringer Truth Monitors B2031A which have 150 power amps and they have been turned on for a year now, yep, never turned them off except when i leave for vacations, working just fine!

I too heard bad things about the Behringer amps but can't confirm, we hear so many crap about this brand! Oh, BTW, I did blow a mic pre-amp on my Behringer mixer UB-1622fx but I still have 3 left, which is fine with me!  I'm using a tube pre-amp that connects to the mic in of my mixer, wonder if that's what blow it???

Just be carefull on what you hear about this brand, do some research on the web (forum) and you'll, some are very happy and some not, just like any other brands BTW!

Every manufacturer eventually makes a piece of junk. That doesn't mean all his products are junk.

There are a few Behringer items that have become icons and are still racked by big name acts....Many have flopped, tho.

Same with Peavey. Peavey has a bad rep with the gear snobs because of a few miserable items, but they have also raised the bar with some others. For example, try to find someone willing to sell a Peavey VMP-2 tube mic pre amp for less than it cost when new....You won't.

What matters in the end is who makes the best particular piece of gear whether it be an amp, crossover, mixer at the best price and has proven to be reliable when compared to others.

Also remember to select you gear based on intended use. Don't expect an amp that performs perfectly on your tops to do likewise on your subs....Each application requires certain strengths and places particular demands on that object.

So expect to end up with a mix of brands in your rack....Just try to select the best value for each item.

Well you know my feelings on Behringer overall.  But yes this amp would be more favorable.  Personally I would save & get the Peavey (or Carvin ) if those were my choices.  But if it's something you absolutely NEED now, then it should work (provided it works) fine.
