THere are several program that can "host" a karaoke show. I am just currious which ones people are using.
If I missed one, just vote OTHER, and post which one your are using.

I've actually used all four but am a RoxBox user now due to it's ease and the fact that it is the only one that will work on my lowly Pentium II laptop which is still running Windows 98SE. Just upgraded the ram and it seems to have made a difference in search speed, which prior to installing the new ram was an issue.
Thank god it was only a test run private party I was using it on and not the real thing, Had my Celeron 1ghz pc available to finish the show.

Sacks-O-Nuts, because I can still use it when I've had too much. And, I always have too much.

Hi Everyone New to the forum and New to the KJ thing.
not sure if this thread is still active or not, but in response, i use other for hosting shows. Decided to write my own hosting program in an attempt to save a few bucks, get exactly the features i need and have it be easy enough to still run if i've tilted back one too many bottles at the show... plus its good programming experience to boot. And it was kinda fun building and overcoming the challenges it has given me.
Chad

the big thing is the ripper is free as is the database.
Not so with tricerisofts elite toolz.
You don't need mp3+Gtoolz along with either audiograbber or cdrwin to set up your song files. It's all inside.

For those mtu users have fun reregistering every three months as MTU wants to start doing. Another reason their software isn't worth buying.

Using WinAmp now. Froze on me a couple of times running Windows XP home with 256mb of Ram. Updated to a Gig of ram yesterday, and last night it ran flawlessly. It may have been because of spyware or malware on my puter though... still can't eliminate all of it for some reason...
Thinking about running Tricerasoft Swift Elite though... Friend of mine showed it to me the other night... wow.

Ever have the lyrics shake during play on PCDJ KJ? went to a show where they were using it, three of the seven or eight songs I stayed for either had garbled lyrics or shook the whole song through. Not sure if it was how it was imported or a flaw in the software, but it reminded me of a CAVS show I went to.
