What's he doing home on a Friday night?...I don't know about him, but I decided to stay home cause my buddy is stuck at home with his daughter.....I shouldn't say stuck, she is a doll-like 3 year old and he is glad to have her tonight.
....Anyway, we decided to go out tomorrow night, so I guess I will get to play here a little longer....Hey, this way I save a hundred bucks, right?

You know how it goes....By the time I pay for a hot bath, clean towel and a shave, rent a shirt, then buy gas and 4 quatrs of oil for the truck and 7-11 brand aftershave, I got maybe 30 bucks left to party on....And it never fails I have to pay last months tab and promise to sweep up and wash beer mugs after closing just to get in the door.
Yep a hundred bucks goes fast in this town!

next time skip the bath and the shave so you won't need a towel. try using the 7-11 aftershave as fuel, oil as cologne. rent a shirt? nah, just get one of them tuxedo t-shirts...always works for me!

Yeah, and after shaving, showering, getting dressed, finding a parking space, hoping to meet someone, I'd end up talking to the owner about 50's guitar's, cars, and other stuff because I realized I was over 2X the age of 75% of the people there... Then I'd go home, fall asleep, and start dreaming that I was trying to get my GPA up at college after partying too much, and starting my 30th year as a senior because I kept getting D's, and cutting classes.....I'd return to college, look around, and there I was, with 17-20 year old kids. "The class of 2005".... (which is fine, problem is I was a freshman at that school in 1973 and had gone every year since trying to get my BA) :(
Not kidding about the dream... There's just very little I want at a bar anymore...Noone to talk to, I just sat there bored, rather than sitting at home bored..
Oh yeah... I'd spend most of the time in a side room with that big CAV's JB-jukebox console trying to learn how to sing, while kid's would come by...
"Excuse me sir. You've been at that for 30 minutes, can we please use it now?"
Something wasn't right.. Finally it dawned on me... These are kids.... I'm older than most of their fathers....
So I decided... Time to find a new hobby.... So here I am I went out on sunday night's on occassion, veteran Karaoke night, the older motown group would show up. The originals from when the place opened around 1986... and again, I'd go into the side room, and start trying to sing on the Karaoke jukebox wondering why I need to go out to do that at all...
Sporadically, (when I felt I wouldn't be bothered that my car got keyed and dinged) I'd go into Hartford, and risk getting murdered walking to the jazz club...I'd sit in on occassion, and loved the blues, and jazz open microphone type nights...Yet it got to the point... Why bother... Alot of places shut down over the years, and Hartford got pretty dangerous in certain area's... New Haven, 50 minutes... Not worth it.....
I'm content being bored I suppose... Two closer places I'd be able to go too (had I not gotten 86'd many years back when I wasn't quite this sweet)

gee, kap! you're only as old as you act, i'm living proof! hell my wife swears i'm a 20 year old trapped in a 40 year old body. (truth be told i feel like i'm about 60 after all the dings and bumps i've taken over the years). who cares what those young whippersnappers think. if you like karaoke, go karaoke. there's got to be some place around you that's got a cool group. that's jazz/blues bar sounds AWESOME! i love a good blues band. and if the jazz isn't too hopped up i like that too. i'm more into the lousiana type jazz, though.
as for the dream, i think i've had that dream, only i'm naked and can't find my class. no one has ever heard of the prof i'm looking for, yet it doesn't seem to bother anyone that i'm buck-a$$-naked. *shrugs* maybe i need a head doctor?

That dream is VERY common.
I'll be sitting in the middle of a class. I'm just there, don't recall walking in....surrounded by other people, and I realize suddenly that I forgot something, MY PANTS.. Noone seems to notice anything, so in a sense, it's a pretty realistic dream. Equally as common is the other type, I'm walking around looking for a course because the final exam is in a few days... Something like intermediate swahili, something I never realized I signed up for, yet I have to pass the course, again, had to get my GPA up to at least a C...now I must try to beg a prof to allow me to drop the course without failing... (A prof I never met, and a class I'd never attended that semester)...Yet I need a good excuse why I'm suddenly showing up too (after missing all but the last two or three days of the course).
The weirdest one is being in a bathroom, and realizing it's suddenly just a toilet in the middle of a crowded bar floor....yet there's no toilet paper either . Again, nothing phases anyone...problem is, there are all these gorgeous women all around, and I'm sitting their with my pants down trying to get someone's attention to get the bar tender to toss me some TP... .. (I'd make this into a movie, yet I'd feel bad about bumping the yearly spot the "Wizard of Oz" has) Does your shrink see couples ?

Depends on whether or not your insurance policy cover's friends or not...Damn shrink coverage is costly these days.

just don't go into a cold pool of water and you won't have to worry 'bout it
well i was kinda hoping to catch a certain someone on here tonight, but i guess that someone isn't going to make it. since i have a big day of work, memorial service, work, engagement party, and work tomorrow, i should hit the sack. good talking with you about the strange things that fill our head. in all seriousness, maybe we can do it again sometime. i like knowing that other folks are just as screwed up as me!

Nah, i thought it was Mama Jack's on Pecan St!
Migas?! you really don't know what Migas are?! go to you're favorite mexican food restaurant for breakfast and order it immediately!
Migas recipe----
Chorizo (mexican sausage)-the greasier the better
Eggs
corn tortillas cut into triangles
chopped onion (white or yellow, your preference)
cilantro (mexican parsley)
diced tomatoes
diced jalepenos (pickled or fresh, your preference)
grated cheddar cheese
cook the chorizo in a skillet with the chopped onions and jalepenos (if you're using fresh) drain some of the grease (this is a taste thing. some like to drain all the grease, i drain about half) then scramble the eggs and tortillas in with the chorizo (add the jalepenos here if you're using pickled). when the eggs are just about done add the cheddar and finish cooking. top with fresh chopped onion, tomatoes, jalepenos, cilantro and cheddar. best served with refried beans and diced hash brown potatoes or you can roll the whole thing up in flour tortillas and eat it like a breakfast taco.
MMMMMMM--MMMMMMM--GOOD!
