Quote: Anyway...Sheryl Crow was ok with the lines of fans she was signing stuff for...but she was EVIL to the store employees!!
I wonder why, probably some conflict with the store she was performing in, and her managing team, or soundmen.. Could the store have defaulted on some setup she was promised ? I wonder who was bugging who...one never knows, unless you were there when they first arrived, and she just seemed to hate the store employee's from the beginning for no apparent reason.

1972, I was running the house auditorium lighting, and helping with the sound setup for this unknown guitarist who was supposedly pretty good.. Ticket's were $3 a pop at the High School, Yet noone bought them..Noone heard of this guy... Yet the concert was still held for only an audience of 15-20 stoned HS kids.... The guy was Peter Frampton.. He had a tiny crew of about 3 with him... plus his band... ALOT of equipment tho....I was surpised, cause "Humble Pie" was on his stacks, and I'd heard of them, just never him
Oh yeah, Back in those days we were all a bunch of "long Haired" kids.... I was pretty jealous of his hair I recall... ... Unbeknownst to me, now in retrospect, I'd rather have mine... In fact I STILL do Poor Pete... AHAHAHAHAHA
You know what I wonder Squid. You see all these 60 year old rockers from the 60's and 70's with full heads of nice long hair... I've got to wonder how many of them go home, and take their hair off at the end of the night, this can't be..... Being performing artists they likely have weaves, and hairpieces... I can't believe such a high percentage of the Classic rock musicians still have full heads of long hair...

Looks can be quite deceiving. A few that have spoken to me on the phone tell me my voice doesn't match my font.. They just don't think I type the way my voice sounds !

I've always thought my singing voice pretty much matched my talking voice..... I did talk to someone from here, and the first time on the phone, the comment was.... "I thought you would have an accent". Hahahaha.......dunno what ever gave that impression, but I thought it was funny. But that was based on, I guess, my singing, not my typing..... again, I dunno, maybe both.
And..... I have no accent at all. :dontknow:
EDIT: Okay, not quite done with this comment yet....
It is kinda funny at times.... if you talk to someone in the forums first, or even know them in real life...... THEN find out they sing..... you get something formed in your mind as to what they may sound like singing..... 9 times out of 10...... I'm way off in my thinking. They sound nothing like I imagined.
And, vice versa, when I hear a new singer, I get a mental image- and it NEVER matches what the person looks like when I finally see them.
I need summore coffee I think.

I have to admit that my image of you was with an accent. That impression is from the way you write your posts.
Now that I think of it ...it's more like a country girl sorta image (which I suspect is correct) sometimes people associate that with having an accent.

Time to pick up the "Pickup" thread...
L'il Mizz, after hearing you do several different styles of music, I can't say WHAT I think your speaking voice would sound like. I've learned not to prejudge a voice...
The most remarkable celebrity voice difference I've seen lately is Allison Krauss...you listen to her talk, and you'd NEVER believe that angelic voice comes from the same throat!!

Few in Oregon have an accent at all that's discernible to me. I haven't been told I have an accent. I just hear stuff like, "I'm sorry, can you repeat that in english?", "Huh?" "Say what?"... "Sorry, I lost you around the time you picked up the phone and said, hello", "What was the spurious noise I just heard?" "Does everyone in your location sound like that, or were you kicked in the head by a horse?"....etc...

I've been told by some folks in Georgia that I have a funny accent. Of course nobody from Oregon would think so but they are convinced of it.
Different would be the right word for it....

My dad is from Birmingham, AL and my mother is from Joplin, MS (ozarks)
When my dad retired from professional baseball they moved out here to Oregon and
he thought Oregon folks talked funny too. Now he talks just like them and his southern accent is all but gone.

Now that I think of it ...it's more like a country girl sorta image (which I suspect is correct) sometimes people associate that with having an accent. Well, maybe that's it. I'm sure I do spell out redneck in more ways than one.... like in my typing. But, I'm actually very literate, haha. I just sound like an idgit in the forums sometimes. And, yes, I'm pretty much a country girl I guess. And people do associate that with accents- in their imaginations. (thanks to TV, haha) Quote: L'il Mizz, after hearing you do several different styles of music, I can't say WHAT I think your speaking voice would sound like. I've learned not to prejudge a voice...
I think..... my talking voice sounds like my singing voice. But maybe that's just what I hear, cause yanno, I'm ME. I'll have to call you soon Dave..... maybe be a prankster, and pretend to be a telemarketer and see if you realize it's me. On second thought..... I guess I just blew that. Haha, someone will call ya one of these days to tell you that ya won a prize or something and you'll be going "Riiiiiight... this is Charmin..." and you'll blow it. LOL LMAO LOL
