You name it ! On second thought, don't
It exists in triplicate on America Online at any given time.. I have MANY years of Provider's such as AOL, I "watched" quite a bit. Some here don't really know what goes on online yet... I'm not going to get into it either.... Want to learn about "Weird" ? get your free 4 month America Online account..
OK, weird is subjective, True.. But guaranteed on America Online there's quite a few weird rooms at any given time for even the weirdest of the weird. Assuming one particular weirdness is your cup of tea *that is*

Uh huh... well I try and steer clear of most weirdness so I think I'll pass on that 4 month membership LOL I do most my chatting on irc... and even that is tedious at times. I tried yahoo chat... too many boobs (and I don't mean the webcam chicks) I love a place like this cause you meet people with like interests that are more.... normal.

You're not speaking of the Newbie welcome when I put a welcome comment and then found out that you only wanted to speak to the ladies are you? I was just a little embarassed about offering a hello and then being told that my welcome counted less because I am a man.

here's an interesting twist...i ment novocals and saturday singer before i joined ks at the june 2 get-together that sharon put together. they are true blue, let me tell you.
meeting one-on-one with people with whom you chat sounds like it would be awkward. meeting a bunch at once sounds like a blast. safety in numbers, kappy. and the fun would increase exponentially.

I agree 100%, That's why I'm here. I like being around vocalists, and got tired of years and years of guitar rooms, and rock music rooms with Instant Messages such as "Hey Kappy, Do you like Hanson ? HaNsoN's GOD deWd!!". What happen's is after alot of stupidity, a person often does seek out a moderated forum.. I just started getting too old to compete with 11 year old kids.

Oh no way, you've been nothing but very cool. I just happened to be very impressed with the amount of very attractive ladies that took the time to say hello on my first day.
It was a very pleasant surprise as I'm sure you can imagine.
I have nothing but respect for any of you guys who have taken the time to welcome and assist me. Had someone said something directly to me to bring offense, it would have already been addressed in a very firm but fair fashion. In other words, they would already know about it. I'm just from the old school of thought like John Wayne said,
'I wont be wronged, I wont be lied to, and I wont be laid a hand upon. I don't do these things to other people and I expect the same of them.'

- I love buying them a beer remark... 'cept I drink Bacardi & Diet Coke
From the perspective of not meeting someone to hook up... we already have! Richard and I met Knightshow over the Memorial Day weekend. He was just what I thought he'd be; a true karaoke enthusiast and people person. Of course, I was reading his posts on this, and other boards, for about 2 years before I even started posting. I felt like I knew him before we met in person....
We met two other people from two other boards and they were just what I thought they'd be. I told Richard what to expect and I was right... Of course I was right, he knows that after 26 years...
I was disappointed not to meet the Texas contingent recently but I will sooner or later.... From what I've gleaned from their posts I think that karaoke with them will be a blast!

Right off it was easy to tell that Sharon and Steve, as well as Dave, and You two are genuine, Aren't pretentious, or playing people...It's easy to tell who likes people and who likes the topics, similarly who has good intent, but just isn't the best at expressing themselves... AND who thinks they are just too cool for most in here..But quite honestly, assuming I was to meet with you folks, Prior to meeting, I'd want to speak on the phone with at least one of you several times, or several of you.. Just the way I am.. I'd want to experience, at least hear SOME expression other than typing... Get a better feel for who people are.. Just the way I am these days.. To me this is the difference between getting to know someone, and having a Penpal type relationship... and the truth is, while I've known people for years online... I DO get nervous talking on the phone the first time etc... It's a different level of getting to know a person... I suppose this is what I'm talking about in actuality, getting to know people is a process... Takes time... I don't dive into friendships even... I might like people, but want some time to feel they are consistent too..
JMO..

Suzie and her hubby Richard were a complete hoot! Really enjoyed meeting them... and their taste in music is excellent. I enjoy meetin' folks that travel in a circle that's a bit different than my own. It really opened my eyes up on music that I don't normally listen to. Karaoke has done that... so many times I hear songs I'd really not normally sit down and listen, and I've began to really appreciate folk's tastes in music!

I have actually tried very hard to havesuch discipline myself. Then there is that far away beat, that drummer that no one is marching to. I could avoid it if the tempo weren't so damn upbeat and if he had left his piper at home.
Sometimes I forget when I'm just being paranoid.
I too had a very nice welcoming crew. Almost like angels. I forgot what it was like in just the few days before I left a hello on you thread.
I must apologize for pulling out of that thread the way I did, I guess my panick attacks are coming back.

Likewise :hi5:
I had not heard Knightshow's music but truly enjoyed it! And on that note, I suicided "Fire Down Below" and Richard couldn't tell me how I did... He'd never heard it!!
I love the different types of music and even the different takes on the same music! I think I would enjoy meeting most of the people on here because of their love of music - any kind!

Actually I did start liking Hansen when they started getting into "Gimme some Lovin" type classic rock.. That was the last I heard of them.. I just didn't think they were Gods... Just as I respect those that like Cobain, I got impatient listening to kiddies explaining why he was a better guitar player than Eric Johnson, Steve Vai, and Jimmy Hendrix x 100... (it's the Jagstang DUDE !!!)
OK, I'm tired and somewhat delerious... Time for bed..

No apologies needed. You ask a perfectly honest question. From what I've seen here, you can definitely consider yourself among friends. I hope that you can include me in that group as well.

We are tracing geneology and both of our families came through Tennessee, settled there and then moved no to Texas.
I have thousands of cousins there, you might know them. They are know-it-alls. Not kidding. they usually have larger than average noses an interest in music and are trouble makers. That's why we left them behind.

we tend to make our own kind of music down here at the infamous little club in grand prairie. I have known rich (phatrat) for a little over 20 years, so there was a comfort level already established when chuck, then sharon, and then dave, appeared on the scene.
novocals will tell you how quiet i was compared to my posts when he met me. i get tongue-tied sometimes. so, kappy, i think maybe that pre-meeting phone call could be a really, really good thing sometimes.

BAHAHAHAHAHA!!! OMG! I haven't laughed so hard at a post in a long time!!
ok seriously now....
I'd never go to meet any of you without a buddy with me (which is why my coming to Oregon is soley dependant on whether or not I'll have a roadtrip pal to go with)
I KNOW I'd never travel anywhere to meet just one person..... what if it's akward? That would be a waste of money if you didn't "click" with the person...
I know the first thing I'd do with most of ya is give you a GRRREAT big ole hug..... startin' with Matt, cuz I promised him first! ! Then I'd sing some Gretchen Wilson or Sara Evans with Charmin.... and dance with the rest of the ladies..... get good n drunk.... and then prolly flirt with the cowboys (yah ok.... I'd probably be too shy to ACTUALLY flirt.... I'd probably just smile and talk and WISH i was brave enough to flirt)
