with some guys and we did comfortably numb all the way through without stopping on the first try.

I liked covering that song,  but Gilmour has a pretty unique style of playing,  His guitar riff's often aren't played on the neck where one would (right off the bat) think they are played... His bending technique, is also quite different than most other guitarists...  I couldn't play note for note his lead on Comfortably Numb without several takes, sure I could play it, but I'd keep forgetting to do certain things.... Not because it's difficult, but because it's unlike most traditional styles...  His dynamics just aren't easy to nail when going from a standard blues style of playing, in some ways he has a lazy style, in other ways it's tighter... Easy to forget, and go into a different signature style accidently... Besides that, the chord changes and composition is quite easy... Floyd you can't mess up certain leads tho

I'd like to meet Rego, Slick Nick and some of those guys a bit older than me (not that I'm any spring chicken these days!).  I'm sure they have some wonderful stories they could share. I'd also like to take my lady "fans" out for lunch if I could; they are so adorable.

I'd love to see what the sky looks like in certain rural area's of Alaska, or in regions of Canada where the air is cold and clean. even Siberia or China... Where things are so clean you can practically see the star's in more than two-dimension's with the naked eye...  (or is that just science fiction stuff,  I wouldn't know...always too much polution here)

Is there a person here that you have a safe and passing interest in?

There are honestly....... SO many people here that fall into that category. People I've listened to, yacked with in the forums, Pm'd and emailed with, and have on MSN, that I would LOVE to meet, just for the sole purpose of meeting them and playing music. I gotta admit, the ones who I know play guitar & stuff, I get a bit more excited to meet. I mean, I love to karaoke as well (duh, haha)...... but people who are musicians, I just tend to click with a little better. I'd have tons of fun sitting around doing some accoustic music with them. Chamjam is one, and Russ, and Steven, and Lonman, and Songstar/Kenderly, and Allstar, and QowboyVern, and I've played music with Odie many times, and too dayum many to list, I'd love to meet Mark(keepinitcntry) to duet with him all night at a karaoke club, and do some 2 steppin' too  :D, and I'd love to meet Tony Learner, just cause he's such a great talent & a gentleman, I think he'd be a neat person to know ....... Heck, I'm missing tons of people, those are just some I know play guitar & sing. (and that's just some of the men, I'd love to meet ALL of the gals here someday, and sing with them)

I even did that on MSN with Songstar, with the sound enabled, he played guitar and I sang along......... it was cool. And, something I want to do again. (when I ever get the time to MSN .... which I hardly ever do anymore) And yes, I have a "safe and passing interest" in him, hahaha. He's a cutie, and he's got talent, he's got the cutest accent, and I love to hear him play his acoustic.

And now I gotta get off here, I just popped online for a bit, and thought "oh no, another thread I haven't posted in yet"........ haha........ Have a good weekend you guys.  :D

One of these days,  and as I've said, I'm about as technically and MIDI knowledgable as a horsefly, but  it would be fun if a group of people had the capability of jamming online while hearing the WHOLE group simultaneously, perhaps even seeing one another on a streaming cam,,, Via midi, and the internet, it would be fun to be able to play with other musicians, and form ONLINE BANDS... not sure if current telecom capabilities can handle a real and present online band A/V

It would be a blast for me,  if I could both practice with, and figure out songs with a vocalist and do accompany work on piano, NOT via CD, but live.... instant refresh rate....while hearing both the vocalist and myself at the same time...

<telephone alone doesn't work>

That WOULD be awesome Steven. Gosh knows, I am not a very good musician, but I'd join in anyhow, that would be way too cool. Hey, video conferencing? Maybe that would work? (never used it before, so I dunno) An "online band".... haha, yeah, we could practice in our jammies without ever leaving the house. Wouldn't that be cool actually, then you could form an "online audience" maybe? Sell tickets to log in and watch/listen?

Okay, Charmin is getting carried away now..... haha. And I'm only "supposing" I would be included anyhow.  LOL

You're gonna love this... Most, if not all of this, is possible and being done as we chat.

It is common in Voice-Over work. That way the director can actually direct someone remotely in real time. The quality is still not the best. If enogh of us (@$%&#!) abou this it will get better. Software companies will take notice and see this as an opportunity.

I need to check my notes to see what company was recomended by my VO instructor. He hsa been doing this since ISDN (extra cool phone connection) lines were the only thing available to use.

I believe you could jam online. I should tell my dad because he is a major networking geek and a musician. He and his brother (who is also a musician) would probably be very interested to figure this out.

That sounds great.. I belong to sites such as riffinteractive, guitarnet.... but it's pretty much type and watch the instructor who's submitted a tape...  I guess I don't understand what type of capabilities or capacity such a computer and connection would need to be capable of..  On our standard Pentium systems, via broadband how would I be able to hook a MIDI keyboard to my computer while simultaneously hearing notes I play, and a singer ? Can that be done with current broadband, and system cache that's affordable to most ?  That almost sounds like some sort've closed circuit device

I'm sorry Steve, I have never played with that part. GiGi has an interest there, more so than I do. I will, however, go through my notes from class to see what I can find about hte internet connectivity.

This looks like it will be peacemeal (sp?).

The service is by a company named Skype.

I am afraid I don't have time to work it out right now but this will give everyone an idea of what I am talking about.

I also don't know if they charge for the kind of idea that you mentioned Steve.

I can look later. Right now I have to learn my new AlesisUSB8. I have to do a home show in a few short hours. Not a paying show and it is with other KJs so I won't have to man the mixer the whole time.

EDIT: It won't work for what you want. I checked it out.

Ah,  Don't worry about it..  It'd take me at least that long to recall where my clothe's are, and remember which sock goes on which foot... even find a matching pair..  To make things easier, all my socks are the same color, powder pink... that way in case I forget which sock goes on which foot.. after figuring it out, I should be able to count the same number of Pink socks with the "L" magic marker lettering as "R"

btw... Is it easier to mic a whole room, or do you have to run all mic's MIDI into a patchbay, or multi-channel MIDI device ?   I'd just assume mic a room (with the piano)... and not go MIDI out on each device if doing the live home stuff.... Anyway, time to buy some food...
